SatLink Hire Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions

1. General

These Terms & Conditions govern the hire of Starlink equipment and included service from Star Link Hire Business ("we", "us", "our") to the customer ("you", "the hirer"). By hiring or using the equipment, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

2. Nature of Service

Starlink service is provided as part of the hire of equipment only. The Starlink account, subscription, and hardware remain the sole property of Star Link Hire Business at all times. This hire does not constitute the sale or resale of internet services.

3. Hire Period

Hire periods commence at the agreed pickup or delivery time and end upon return of the equipment. Minimum hire periods apply depending on the selected plan. Early returns do not entitle the hirer to a refund.

4. Pricing & Payments

All hire fees must be paid in advance unless otherwise agreed. Extensions are charged on a per-day basis and must be requested prior to the scheduled return time. Late returns may incur additional charges.

5. Hire Plan & Data Usage

All hires include access to high-speed Starlink internet.

The minimum hire period is seven (7) days.

Additional days are charged at the applicable daily rate.

Internet access is provided for normal, reasonable use during the hire period and is subject to Starlink network conditions, including congestion, weather, and availability. Speeds are not guaranteed.

Use must not be excessive, abusive, or interfere with the performance of the service.

Prohibited use includes, but is not limited to:

  • reselling or redistributing internet access

  • operating public or commercial Wi-Fi services

  • continuous high-volume downloading

  • torrenting or peer-to-peer file sharing

  • any unlawful activity

Where unreasonable or abusive use is detected, we reserve the right to manage the service, restrict access, or terminate the hire without refund.

6. Acceptable Use

The equipment must not be used for illegal activities, reselling or sharing internet access, excessive or abusive data usage, or any activity that interferes with the operation of the equipment. The hirer must not modify, reset, or tamper with the equipment.

7. Monitoring & Intervention

We reserve the right to monitor usage for the purposes of managing service quality, preventing abuse, and ensuring compliance with these Terms & Conditions. We may intervene where necessary to protect the service.

8. Standby & Activation

Service is activated at the start of the hire period. Once activated, no refunds are provided for unused time. Between hires, services may be placed into standby mode at our discretion.

9. Equipment Care, Loss & Damage

In the event of loss, theft, non-return, or irreparable damage to the equipment, the hirer agrees to pay the full replacement cost of the equipment, including any associated administrative, recovery, and service reinstatement costs. The refundable bond may be retained in part or in full. If the bond does not cover the full replacement cost, the hirer remains liable for the outstanding balance. Failure to return equipment may result in debt recovery action and/or notification to relevant authorities.

10. Performance Disclaimer

Internet performance is dependent on factors outside our control, including weather, obstructions, satellite availability, and network congestion. No guarantees are made regarding speed or uptime.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of business, income, or data. Liability is limited to the hire fees paid.

12. Cancellations

Once the hire period has commenced and service has been activated, no refunds are provided for unused time.

Cancellations made prior to the commencement of the hire period may be eligible for a refund or credit at our discretion.

Weather conditions, changes of mind, or reduced usage do not constitute grounds for a refund.

13. Third-Party Service Terms (Starlink)

Starlink network services are provided by Starlink and are subject to Starlink’s own terms, acceptable use policies, and service limitations. By using the hired equipment, the hirer agrees to comply with Starlink’s applicable terms and policies.

We are not responsible for the content, performance, availability, or changes to Starlink’s services or terms, and Starlink’s terms do not override or replace these Terms & Conditions.

14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
